\u00a0 \u00a0One of the things we don’t talk about enough is how friendships can be affected through spiritual awakening and growth. These relationships can change a great deal throughout life as we change and grow already. Some of the biggest changes I’ve observed has been during the really tough struggles, the times we need support and a soft place to land. Often, that can go hand in hand with times of rapid growth mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.<\/p>

In the past I had friendships that fell short when I needed the most support. They were gone by the time I’d reached beyond a difficult situation or had grown past what made them comfortable. I’m sure many of us have found through spiritual awakenings that some people begin to just fall away, while others show interest, are present, and may even be inspired to pursue their own journey of spiritual growth. I’ve realized that the kind of people whom have come into my life over the past two years are drastically different from the ones who left my life in the same time frame. I believe this has much to do with the inner work that awakenings almost always force us to meet head on. Without the inner work we can easily plateau in spiritual endeavors. Of course Spirit chimes in and says “we cleared the way for you once you utilized the lessons”.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
I think what Spirit has really taught me about friendship is that we don’t have to be anyone but ourselves to attract the right fit; we don’t need to mold ourselves to anyone else’s standards in order to find our people; those not meant for the long haul with us will eventually remove themselves from the equation because the vibration is no longer comfortable or compatible.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Spirit has shown me that it’s better for our own growth to surround ourselves with people we admire and respect and be open enough to accept that those same people respect and admire us too. Most of all we must understand that we are more than worthy of having deep and meaningful friendships. We are more than worthy of having people in our lives who uplift and encourage us and who are equally excited about our success as we are about theirs. We are more than worthy of friends who are there for us even in our lowest moments. These are the friendships that help us to strive for our best in all areas of life, and the reciprocal nature of such relationships is a beautiful way balance can show up in our lives.<\/div>
